Mosholu Montefiore Community Center (MMCC) adopts the ScienceStart! Comprehensive Curriculum

The Mosholu Montefiore Community Center (MMCC) in the Bronx has adopted the ScienceStart! Comprehensive Curriculum for its 27 Head Start classrooms. We will provide the teachers at MMCC a basic introduction to the curriculum in February, via Zoom, then work with them as they begin using it. Even if you are already using a curriculum that you like, you may want an easy way to introduce more STEM/STEAM into your classroom. For that reason, we developed AnyTimeScience!. There are five units and each contains 10 lesson plans for science investigations:  LIVING THINGS, MEASUREMENT AND MAPPING, MOTION AND FORCE, PROPERTIES OF MATTER, COLOR AND LIGHT.  Each lesson plan incorporates language and literacy, math, and art activities. The investigation can easily be completed in an hour or two in one day.  However, the lesson plan also includes extra activities and suggestions for expanding it over a week.
